First Sunday in the month - GALLERY RIFLE
This competition is for underlever rifles. Often the course of fire is “practical style” involving shooting at paper targets, bobbers & movers, skittles and the like. Shot against the clock movement (to different shooting positions) is required, as are reloads. Underlever rifles of any calibre may be used, with any sights. Twice a year there is a precision shoot at 50 metres. This is restricted to rifles with tube magazines and scopes may only be set to a maximum of 4x magnification.
Second Sunday in the month - BLACK POWDER
Rifle event first, then pistols. The same type of targets are used for each. For rifles courses of fire may include normal precision, reverse scoring and one shot in each ring (difficult!). Pistol shooters enjoy similar, plus modified Police Pistol events using turning targets.
Third Sunday in the month - MINI-RIFLE
As for gallery rifle but using semi-auto .22 calibre rifles.
Third Sunday in the month - SPORTING RIFLE
A precision shoot at 50 metres using bolt action sporting rifles (no heavy target barrels & the like). .22LR calibre, any sights but maximum magnification for scopes 12x.
Last Sunday in the month (4th or 5th if there is one) - PRESIDENTS CUP
A precision shoot at 50 metres for .22 target rifles. Any sights and no restriction on scope magnification.
If there are 5 Sundays in a month there’s a LOG CHOP competition for underlever rifles on the fourth Sunday.
Though not competitions there’s usually activity on Sunday mornings in the shotgun pit too. Practical shotgun on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, clay pigeon shooting on the 2nd and 4th Sunday.
