Worcester Norton Shooting Club
Norton Barracks, Brockhill Lane
Norton, Worcester, WR5 2PP
All prospective new members are required to successfully complete a structured probationary course. This normally covers ten attendances, within a maximum of 6 months. From 09:00 to 11:00 on Sunday mornings the Charlmont range is reserved for ‘probys’ and staffed by experienced range officers who provide instruction in safe gun handling, club rules and procedures, range commands etc. A log is kept to record attendance and progress.
The club armoury provides a wide range of guns for probationers to use and there’s no charge for these - ammunition has to be paid for though.
Full members of other clubs and existing FAC holders wishing to apply for membership of Worcester Norton will still be required to complete a probationary period but, at the discretion of the club, this may be shorter than the normal 10 weeks.
If you wish to apply for membership you should visit the club on any Sunday morning, between 09:00 and 09:30, and ask for a committee member - anybody will point you in the right direction. You’ll be given a tour of the club and have a chance to see, first hand, what goes on. The procedure for membership application will be explained to you and all the necessary ‘paperwork’ put in hand. The probationary membership fee is £75 and includes use of club guns, hearing & eye protection and a supply (2 rolls) of target patches.
If you have any general questions before making a visit to the club please contact us by using the ‘contact’ link in the menu list on the left..
