President’s Cup Sporting Rifle Competition Rules

Calibre: .22LR

Barrel Style: Sporting type rifles only, No heavy or ‘bull’ barrels.

Sights: Iron or scope sights. Maximum scope magnification setting 12X.

Action Type: Either bolt action or semi automatic, no single shot e.g. Martini action. All rounds to be magazine fed.

Shooting Aids: No gloves or other shooting aids.

Ammunition: Standard ammunition only, no match ammunition. Examples of permissible ammunition types:- Winchester T22, Eley Club, Thunderbolt, Blazer. Hollow points if permitted by FAC.

Other: Moderators permitted.

Course of fire: 6 targets at 50m, (see target card image).
2 x 5 shots using stick if required, kneeling on one knee.
2 x 5 shots using stick if required, sitting.
2 x 5 shots freestyle, rifle not fully supported.

When: To be shot on the third Sunday of the month. Only scores shot on that day will be eligible. Best 6 of 12 to count towards the annual ranking.
