We have a very full programme of Sunday morning club competitions for members and these are extremely well supported. The programme is outlined on this page; to see the future schedule of events see the Calendar in the Home page menu.
Although there are annual prizes, based on a members best 4 results over the year for each discipline, these competitions are NOT staid affairs - far from it. They’re designed to be fun and the amount of banter has to be heard to be believed. So, whatever your ability, come along and join in the fun.
Rifle and pistol competitions usually start at 10:00 and the competitions manager has an ‘active imagination’ when it comes to dreaming up courses of fire! The entry fee (for targets and so on) is a wallet busting £1.
There is an ‘open’ competition on the first Saturday of each month. This utilises all of the ranges to provide a multi-stage workout for your Practical Shotgun and Mini-rifle skills. Visitors from other clubs who wish to compete must hold an FAC and bring their own equipment. The entry fee for these Saturday competitions is just £5 for members, £10 for visitors from other clubs.
1st Sunday in the month - GALLERY RIFLE - Farrington 25m
This competition is for pistol calibre (e.g. .38/.357” or .44”) underlever rifles with any sights. The course of fire may involve static paper targets and skittles, with bobbers and movers for added variety. The course can require movement to different shooting positions and mandatory reloads.
2nd Sunday in the month - MUZZLELOADING - Farrington 25m
Rifle event first, then pistols. For rifles courses of fire may include precision, reverse scoring and one shot in each ring (difficult!). Pistol shooters enjoy similar challenges, plus Police Pistol using turning targets.

As for gallery rifle, but using semi-auto .22LR rifles.
3rd Sunday in the month - SPORTING RIFLE - Freeman 50m
